갤러리 더 스페이스중학은 시각매체를 중심으로 다양한 예술적 실천과 매체의 가능성을 탐구하는 전시공간입니다.

특정 장르나 형식에 한정되지 않고 작품의 개념과 물질성, 제작 방식, 이미지와 매체가 생성되고 전달되는 조건에 주목합니다.

갤러리는 개인전과 기획전, 대관전을 위한 전시공간으로 운영됩니다. 전시기획과 시각매체에 관한 연구, 출판, 강연 및 프로그램은 2017년 설립된 스페이스 중학 사진연구소를 중심으로 이루어집니다.

2021년부터 2025년까지 ‘스페이스 중학’으로 운영되었으며, 2026년 ‘갤러리 더 스페이스중학’으로 새롭게 문을 열었습니다. 갤러리는 작가와 기획자에게 전시공간을 제공하는 한편, 스페이스 중학 사진연구소의 연구와 기획을 전시와 프로그램으로 구현하는 공간이기도 합니다.

Gallery The Space Junghak is an exhibition space in Seoul centered on visual media and dedicated to exploring a range of artistic practices and the possibilities of different media.

Rather than being limited to a particular genre or format, the gallery focuses on the concepts and materiality of artworks, methods of production, and the conditions through which images and media are created and communicated.

The gallery operates as a venue for solo exhibitions, curated exhibitions, and independent rental exhibitions. Exhibition planning, research on visual media, publications, lectures, and related programs are developed primarily through the Space Junghak Photo Lab, founded in 2017.

The space operated as Space Junghak from 2021 to 2025 and reopened in 2026 as Gallery The Space Junghak. The gallery provides exhibition space for artists and curators while also serving as a site where the research and curatorial projects of the Space Junghak Photo Lab are realized through exhibitions and programs.
